Interstate highways in Colorado and elsewhere are not designed for pedestrians. Whatever the reason, one person was apparently walking on I-25 in Denver recently when he or she was struck and killed by vehicle.
According to reports, the crash occurred early in the morning of Saturday, March 12. A person was reportedly attempting to cross the interstate on foot, although no word was given as to why the individual was walking on the highway in the first place. Nevertheless, the individual was struck by a vehicle and declared dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. They also have not confirmed whether the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene or fled. The report also did not specify what type of vehicle officials believe struck the pedestrian or whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Both lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours that morning as authorities investigated the scene.
Although the report did not identify the victim killed in this pedestrian-car accident, most likely, authorities have already notified next-of-kin.
