Now that the weather is getting warmer, many in Colorado who enjoy riding motorcycles are hitting the road. Although a practical, fun and economical way to get around, motorcycles offer little to no protection in a crash, especially one involving a larger passenger vehicle. The accident occurred close to 7 a.m. during the morning of May 10. A man was riding his Honda motorcycle southbound on College Avenue in Fort Collins when an SUV crossed in front of his path. The SUV was attempting to make a left turn off of College Avenue when the crash occurred.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local medical center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the SUV, a 44-year-old man, was not hurt in the accident. The coroner plans to release the identity of the deceased following notification of next-of-kin.
